What an amazing Purim we had this year! There are so many people to thank.
Firstly, although we have already thanked you, Miriam and Josey, we didn’t actually know what we were thanking for until we saw those unbelievable bags that came. They were stunning. So many people mentioned how happy they were to be able to give Mishloach Manot in such an easy way, and to receive the one package instead of a lot of little ones – it was a win/win situation. Actually, it was a win / win / WIN situation as the shul made a profit of over $12,000 – the best year ever!
A big thank you to Mordechai Michalowicz and Yedidya Basser for their beautiful layning of the Megillah.
The highlight of Purim was the beautiful Purim Seudah / Carnival.
Ian and Sharon Durbach made sure the food was delicious and plentiful. Thanks so much for doing this event for the shul – and with a smile!
Phil Kravetsky, the music was great and so leibedich… What would Purim be without DJ Phil?
As well, Roberto Hausman put together such great entertainment. Just one question, Roberto: Who DID stop the rain?
Funny doesn’t even begin to describe Oren Dishy’s routine! The new format of the Carnival happening after the Seduah was really appreciated by the parents. It was so well organized and everyone seemed to be having a blast! Thanks to Devorah Deverett and Oren for making this happen.
While we were having a great night and day, Eitan Adams, Lorne Pillemer and a group of boys from Ner Yisroel went from house to house down south collecting for Westmount Shul. Although the final numbers aren’t in yet, it will likely be about $2,500 collected! Great job boys. Thanks as well to Raphael Adams who came into the office on erev Shabbos and wrote and designed a beautiful information sheet for the boys to hand out to potential donors.
And last, but for sure not least, Johnny Sacke, thanks again for organizing the booze – an integral part of Purim.
