Rabbi Erez and Jane Farkas
Erez was born and raised in Toronto. He grew up in Forest Hill where he attended Jewish Day school and then went onto study at Yeshivas Aish Hatorah in Jerusalem and received his Rabbinic ordination from Rabbi Noach Weinberg.
Erez has been working in experiential Jewish education for over 10 years. He presently studies daily in the Thornhill Kollel. Erez will be teaching in the Shul on Shabbos, weekday evenings and Sunday mornings. He will also oversee the youth programs.
Jane was born in Russia and grew up in Israel. She moved to Canada with her family when she was 9 years old. Jane has a degree in Biology from York University, but has been pursuing her passion of working for the Jewish people for the last 10 years alongside her husband.
In addition to assisting the Rebbetzin’s reach into women’s programs, Jane build and establish a social media presence for the Shul, create a network of young women in the neighborhood, and reach out to the younger people in the Indian Sfardi community, among other things.
Jane and Erez have 4 children and live in Thornhill’s Jewish community.
