You walk upstairs and feel the warmth as soon as you enter the small shul. People are saying to you ‘gut shabbos’ and ‘shabbat shaloms.’ You see people praying and it’s sincere, the singing is out of this world. You notice there are black kippahs on some heads, colorful kippahs on other and no kippah on anothers. Yet they all are together and all enjoying the simcha with their fellow Jews.
A Gem in Thornhill’s Jewish Community
We are committed to Torah-based observance, the love of Jews and connection to the land of Israel. Our shul is made up of some 170 families some just starting a family, some with grown kids, some more observant, some less.
We laugh a lot, we celebrate holidays and simchas together. Our childrens’ milestones, and the adults’ learning accomplishments. Learning is something we do at a high level here, guided by accomplished Torah scholars. There are a lot of classes to join, ranging from basic how-tos of Jewish observance to the deeper answers we search for.
The classes are open and encourage open and candid questions. You name it, and we will discuss it openly.
