This past Shabbos, Sergeant Benjamin Anthony, a reservist with the IDF, spoke very movingly about life in the IDF and the importance of connecting Jews in Israel and outside of Israel. By all accounts, his presentations were exceptional. Special thanks to the Moses family for sponsoring his visit. Special Yasher Koach to all those who came out on a bitterly cold night for Sgt. Anthony’s presentation.
On Shabbos afternoon, Sgt. Anthony spoke to 45 teenage boys who accompanied him from Westmount to the Pillemer’s for Shabbos lunch. He said that he didn’t see kids or teens in front him, but the future leaders of the Jewish people and he wanted to hear what they had to say and think. He then answered questions for over an hour on the topics the boys raised including: Torah, Israel, the Army, antisemitism, the college campus and other pressing issues.
