It was an amazing experience, an ‘Hachnasat Torah’ event in the new Sfardi minyan at Westmount Shul.
The whole community participated, Bnei Israel, Sfardi, Ashkenazi, Canadian, South African, Israelis, young and old!
On Sunday Sept. 17 we completed a new sefer torah; with kids getting their own letters written on a klaf, with dancing the Torah into the new minyan’s home. And a huge community seudah together.

Witnessing the completion of a hand written Torah scroll, the celebration of
welcoming it to it’s new home and meeting some of warm families of our new Sfardi community. Many of the families were
Dancing and celebration as the Torah was brought into it’s new home
Indian-Jewish so the dinner had a lot of good and Kosher Indian foods to enjoy too.
The celebration coincided with the opening of our 2,000 sq. ft. extension.The entire community is invited to attendone of the three new minyanim at the Westmout Shul and Learning Centre in Thornhill. .
